Speaking with Radio Dinosaur, the head of IT for Macra, Mr.  Steve Chipele said “acquiring this machine is a way of bringing to an end the Fake news catastrophe that has wrecked havoc on the internet in this day and age of Technology”.

He later added that a lot of people’s freedoms are being violated by fake news since anyone can post stories to promote their own agenda, even if the reason is to tarnish another person’s image. Since the internet lacks gate keepers to control which stories get posted, this  called for Macra to intervene in order to end the reign of Fake news which has been misleading people and also hurting their daily lives, hence the procurement of the machine to track down fake news.
