According to Lilongwe Police spokesperson Hastings Chigalu, Sitolo and an accomplice who is still at large allegedly robbed the Indian national yesterday around 4 p.m. The victim, who works as a manager at Deira Investment, was carrying the money in a laptop bag while riding a motorcycle. The suspects blocked the motorcycle and threatened him with metal objects before seizing the bag.

After the incident was reported, investigators acted swiftly and Sitolo was arrested at Kanengo as he attempted to board a bus.

So far, K9.9 million of the stolen money has been recovered. Sitolo, who is also known as Rasta, is reported to have told police that K5 million was shared with his accomplice.
