Daniel Mwanyongo Chitonya, the Member of Parliament for Karonga Town, has asked traditional leaders for cooperation and to work together on development projects funded by the K5 billion Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Chitonya made the call on Wednesday at Principal Group Village Headman Mweniyumba during a meeting with the traditional leaders under PGVH Mweniyumba.

Chitonya said the purpose of the meeting was to explain how the CDF functions and the procedures followed by Parliament guidelines these funds.

He also urged traditional leaders should take an active role in disseminating information about these funds to the grassroots level as these funds ultimately belong to the people.

Chitonya noted that if all these funds are utilized effectively over the next five years, Karonga Town will undergo a significant transformation in terms of development.

PGVH Mweniyumba thanked the Honorable Daniel Mwanyongo Chitonya for coming to brief the leaders on the CDF processes, noting that such transparency is vital for effective leadership.
