The donation was made in response to the mobility challenges Mhone has faced since 2020, which have left her unable to walk.
Speaking during the handover, EFM Vice President Ishumael Mwafulirwa said the organisation felt compelled to assist after learning of Mhone’s difficulties.
He noted that EFM’s policy prioritises support for vulnerable people, persons with disabilities, and orphaned children, including assistance with school fees.
Mwafulirwa urged residents of Karonga District to report similar cases of vulnerable individuals and persons with disabilities so that the group can continue offering help.
Mhone expressed deep gratitude for the timely support,She said she currently relies on her granddaughter, who does casual labour to provide food, as the household has no other stable source of income.
The items included maize flour, sugar, cooking oil, salt, bathing and laundry soap, eggs, a chitenje cloth among others.
